Service Task Considerations
In accordance with VisionQwest's NO LIFT policy, field staff are instructed NEVER to life or bear the total weight of a patient, furthermore, two person lifts are only to be attempted in circumstances where an Occupational Therapist has assessed and approved the requirement and specified the lifting technique. In EVER other circumstance patient lifts are to be effected by the use of a suitable purpose designed mechanical hoist provided at the patient's premises.
Field staff are instructed to exercise Universal Infection Control procedures whenever necessary. These precautions include the wearing of protective gloves, aprons, masks and eye wear as appropriate.
Potentially dangerous animals (in particular dogs) are to be restrained whild field staff are in attendance.
Field staff are instructed NOT to tolerate physical, sexual or emotional harassment or abuse from patients (or the associates of patients).

VisionQwest management and coordinators are always available to discuss any issues which may affect the safe and efficient completion of a service task including any alternative methods which will provide a satisfactory outcome with minimal risk to staff and patient.
Field staff are NOT permitted to undertake tasks on a site where identified Occupational Health and Safety hazards cannot be eliminated, substituted or mitigated to the extent that they can comply with procedural Safe Work Methods applicable to the task.
